Hello and welcome to the Best Kept Secret web
site. Here we hope to keep you informed about the band's activities,
our current gigging calendar and any projects we are working
on. We'll also try and keep you amused with photos and anecdotes
regarding performances and events.
If you're a fan of the band, and
if you haven't done so already, please click on the link below
and register for our newsletter. We send one out about once a
month or if a special event is up and coming.
If you're visiting our site with
a view to booking the band, we've tried to include some information
to give you a flavour of what we perform, look like and sound
like. We are always pleased to talk to you regarding your planned
event and our demonstration CD is available on request. Contact
details are at the bottom of this page.
So who or what is Best Kept Secret?
We describe ourselves as a four-piece acoustic covers band playing
a range of popular music from the 60's to present day. Having
spent some time in the South West music scene we found that many
venues were unable to find a band capable of delivering an evening's
entertainment where the audience could sing along while the bar
staff could still hear them speak. So we created Best Kept Secret
to fill the gap. Using acoustic instruments, some hand held percussion
and four-part vocal harmonies our music can be laid back and relaxed,
but also have plenty of energy to keep an audience singing along
all night. If needed we can play entirely acoustically without
amplification. On the other hand, we can bring along a drummer
and play electric guitars for a bigger sound. We're very versatile.
You can find out more about each
of us by clicking on the 'Band Members'
link above and see some articles from the press in our 'In
The Press' link. The sample 'Set List'
is just an example of what we can do, there are many more, and
our 'Gallery' link is just so you
can see what a good looking bunch we are.
We've recently added a links page
where you can follow the links to see Best Kept Secret on other
web-sites, and find about more about us and our friends. There's
also a link to our BBC
page where you can hear a live interview and session that
we played on BBC Somerset Sound in April 2006.
Thank you for visiting our
web site! We'd be please to hear from you with your comments and
song suggestions and we all look forward to seeing you at a gig
in the near future.
