A Guide to Booking an Evening with Best Kept Secret

Thank you for considering Best Kept Secret. Below is some information to help you decide if we are the right band for your event, function or venue. If there is anything any thing else you need to know please contact James using the information below.

Your Choices of Band
Normally we are a four-piece band using just acoustic instruments. This would be three instruments and a lead vocalist.

We can however also employ a drummer and perform the set with electric guitars as well as the acoustic instruments. This gives a much bigger sound that would be more suitable for a larger venue.

Spare Required
As a four-piece band using just acoustic instruments we do not need as much space as other bands and we can fit into some pretty small spaces. However if we are playing with a drummer we would need a little more space, although no more than your average five-piece band.

Type of Music
As you can see from our sample set list Best Kept Secret is not a rock, blues, soul or indeed any particular type of band. We try and do a bit of everything. Because we are mainly an acoustic band our set includes quite a few ballads which particularly suit our setup. We do plenty of up-tempo songs too, but at present we would expect to perform a good mixture of slow and faster songs. We do, however, try to bring our own interpretation to the songs, often using our own unique arrangements.

On The Night
Before we play for you we will need some information regarding your venue and conditions. We will need to know the following things:
· Playing times
· Access to the playing area for loading and unloading equipment
· Where we can park our vehicles
· If there are any noise level considerations (we can adjust accordingly)
· When we need to be set up by
· Are there any special considerations (such as announcements or background music in breaks)
· How payment will be made

If necessary we will visit the venue and look at the space so that we can determine the best set-up for your event. This will allow us to bring the correct equipment including the correct PA size and lighting to make your function or event as pleasurable as possible.

Of course the best way to get an idea of what we do is to come and see us live. That is by far the best way to get a feel for what we do and then we can also meet and talk about what you require. Should that not be possible, we can send you our demonstration CD which some sample songs. These are studio recorded songs but played exactly how they would be on stage.
